Welcome to the Dornsife School of Public Health at Drexel University!
Please save the date for Virtual Orientation, beginning Monday, August 3 – Friday, September 18, 2020. The full schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
Each year, Drexel University hosts Welcome Week for all new and incoming students. This celebratory and informative event will give all new Dragons the opportunity to be together for a full week before diving into classes. Welcome Week provides you with hundreds of events and activities to choose from, to help you find your home here at Drexel.
Starting this summer, Dornsife is hosting New Student Virtual Orientation. Departments from across Drexel are working together to offer our new Drexel dragons an interactive remote orientation experience beginning August 3, 2020 through Welcome Week, ending September 18, 2020.
Virtual Orientation combines opportunities to connect one-on-one and in group settings with students, faculty, and staff through live events and self-paced online modules. From learning about resources available to you as a Drexel student to tips on navigating student life, Virtual Orientation will help you begin making connections with fellow students and find success as you begin your educational journey.
What do I need?
To participate in Virtual Orientation, you will need the following items:
- A computer that has video and audio functionality
- Access to internet and Chrome
- While not required, we recommend the use of headphones to not be distracted by background noise
How do I access Virtual Orientation?
Virtual Orientation offers both synchronous sessions (scheduled and live) and asynchronous sessions (self-paced) and can be viewed throughout the summer via Drexel University’s Learning Management System, Blackboard Learn. Blackboard is where the majority of your coursework will be located, and Orientation is a perfect opportunity to become familiar with this system before classes begin this fall. You will be able to access Blackboard as soon as you pick up your Drexel account.
Our Student Affairs team will be available to assist with your Virtual Orientation experience and/or questions about your transition to Drexel University. Please feel free to contact Michelle Quigley with questions.
We want to ensure that we are accommodating all students participating in our Virtual Orientation experience. If there are questions and/or concerns about the method(s) of delivering content, please do not hesitate to contact Disability Resources (ODR) at 215.895.1401 or email@example.com.
If you have any questions, please contact Michelle Quigley.
The Student Affairs team continues to monitor and work alongside Drexel University with updates regarding COVID-19. As the situation evolves, we will update this site with any changes.
