1. How do I RSVP for Commencement?

Once you’ve applied for your degree, you’ll receive access to the Commencement RSVP on the Drexel One Student Checklist. The deadline to RSVP for Commencement is May 17.

2. I need tickets for the University and/or Dornsife ceremony.

You can order tickets when RSVPing for Commencement. Students are guaranteed 4 tickets to the Dornsife ceremony, and 6 tickets to the University ceremony. All guests must have a ticket to be admitted to Commencement. Graduates will not need tickets for themselves. Children over the age of 2 will need a ticket.

The University ceremony will be live-streamed on the Commencement website.

3. I need extra tickets for the University and/or Dornsife ceremony.

When RSVPing for Commencement, be sure to request extra tickets. You will be able to pick up tickets at the Graduation Fair, held in late May. If you are unable to attend the Graduation Fair to pick up tickets, you must visit the Office of the Dean in Main Building, Suite 220, between Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM. Dornsife does not manage distribution of Commencement tickets.

If you have already RSVP’d for Commencement and need extra tickets, please email enroll@drexel.edu with your name, University ID, Drexel email and number of tickets requested for respective ceremonies.

4. How do I order regalia?

You must RSVP to Commencement in order to access the online ordering link. Order deadlines are dependent on the regalia type. Please visit the Commencement page for more information.

5. Where do I pick up my regalia?

Regalia may be picked up from the bookstore at Center City or University City.

6. Do I need to pay for regalia?

Regalia is the cap and gown dress required for graduates to participate in commencement ceremonies. All Drexel regalia is custom blue and gold, with more custom options for doctoral graduates. Students without the appropriate regalia will not be permitted to process at ceremonies.

7. Am I able to rent regalia?

Neither Drexel nor Dornsife provide regalia renting services. At this time, Drexel and Dornsife do not offer support to purchase or subsidized costs for regalia.

8. I am an undergraduate student and am graduating with Latin Honors. Will I receive a cord?

While Drexel does not distribute cords for Latin Honors, Dornsife does offer cords for Undergraduate students who are graduating with Latin Honors. If you are eligible for Latin Honors, you will be emailed by the Student Affairs office to pick up your cord in June.

9. I am an graduate student and am graduating with a 4.0 GPA. Will I receive a cord?

Yes, Dornsife offers a cord for graduate students who have received a final GPA of 4.0 only. If you are eligible for a cord, you will be emailed by the Student Affairs office to pick up your cord in June.

10. Where are the ceremonies held?

The Dornsife School of Public Health ceremony is held on Friday, June 14, 2019, at 1:00PM in the Daskalakis Athletic Center (DAC) on the University City Campus. The University-wide ceremony is held on Friday, June 14, 2019, at 7:30PM at Citizen’s Bank Park in South Philadelphia.

11. Where and when do I arrive to the day-of ceremonies?

For the Dornsife ceremony, Bachelor’s and Master’s students should arrive at 12:00PM to the Recreation Center Gym via the lobby. Doctoral students should arrive at 12:00PM to the Recreation Center Gym via the lobby. Upon arrival, you will obtain your reader card, have a photo taken, and then be escorted to the DAC Media Room (Faculty Robing Room) for the procession. You will meet your supervising professor in the Faculty Robing Room.

For the University ceremony, all students must report between 6:00-6:30PM to the Citizens Bank Way for Pep Rally then Phillies Drive to line up.

12. Where and when do guests arrive day-of ceremonies?

For the Dornsife ceremony, guests may arrive to the Dornsife ceremony beginning at 12:00PM via the North Doors of DAC via Lancaster Walk and 33rd Streets.

For the University ceremony, guests may arrive beginning at 5:30PM via Citizens Bank Way for Pep Rally then Third Base or Left Field Gates to enter.

13. Is parking available?

Free parking is available on campus on a first come-first serve basis. Please visit the Commencement page for more information.

14. I need an accommodation for the Commencement Ceremonies.

Accommodations are available for students and guests in need. Please visit the Commencement page for more information.

15. I need a formal invitation to the ceremony to apply for a visa.

If you have a friend or family member planning to visit the U.S. to see you for a short period, this person could be eligible to apply for a B-2 visa. The B-2 visa is valid for visits of 6 months or less and is only used for recreational visits. As the host for your visitor, our office recommends that you write a support letter for your guest.
