The Dornsife School of Public Health Office of Student Affairs, in collaboration with the Center for Public Health Practice (CPHP) and Steinbright Career Development Center (SCDC), provides career services and resources designed to support students and alumni during the job search process.

Career Counseling

A great way to get in-depth and personalized advice on your job search is to make an appointment for career counseling. You can discuss career decision-making and job search strategies, have your resume and cover letter critiqued, conduct a mock interview, evaluate a job offer, or learn more about the career resources available to you at the School of Public Health. To schedule an appointment, please email Michelle McDermott.

Career Assessment

Public health is a broad field, and you want to discover the area that’s the best fit for you. SCDC provides tools for you to help evaluate your personality, interests, skills, and values as they relate to your career choices. Schedule a career counseling appointment for more information.

Searching for an internship or full-time job is a personal and unique experience for each student. The Office of Student Affairs is committed to helping students explore career options by offering workshops and individual consultations that support students through each step of the journey: identifying online job postings and employers, preparing application materials, networking and interviewing with employers, and negotiating a salary. To schedule an appointment, please email Michelle McDermott. For upcoming event details, please visit the events calendar page.

Additionally, the Office of Practice manages Symplicity, a School-wide portal that allows students and alumni to view jobs, paid and unpaid internships and fellowships, summer opportunities, global opportunities, practicum opportunities, and master’s projects postings.
