The Sidney Kimmel Medical College student chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society invites you to join our inaugural Healthcare Barrier Hackathon! Please join us on Saturday, March 25 on our campus in Philadelphia, PA to learn and practice creative approaches to remove barriers to humanistic care for underserved patients. Teams will be presented with a healthcare challenge (it’s a secret until the event, in true hackathon style!) relevant to underserved patients throughout the nation.
Teams will then have an opportunity to attend three 15-minute workshops of their choice to brainstorm with mentors who are leaders in healthcare design. Session topics will include Design Strategies for Eliminating Healthcare Disparities, Designing Marketing A Healthcare Proposal, Legal Considerations in Health Design, and more! After morning sessions, teams will be released to hack for the day with optional meals and cocktail hours for breaks. To allow travel flexibility, teams will present their final proposals to judges over Zoom on Sunday, March 26.
Winning teams will receive cash prizes of $300 for first place, $200 for second place, and $100 for third place!
Don’t have a team? No worries, you can register as an individual and be placed with others looking to work with new friends. This event is open to students of ALL health professions from ALL schools and is NOT limited to GHHS members.
