Wednesday, May 25th at 6:00PM EDT in the Main Building Auditorium!

Join us in celebrating the accomplishments of Drexel’s graduating students of the African diaspora at the William Sidney Pittman Graduation Ceremony. William S. Pittman was the first African American graduate at Drexel. Each year, in his honor, we recognize all graduates of the African diaspora whose legacy and contributions to their respective fields have paved the way for the success of others in their educational, personal, and professional endeavors. Hosted by the Center for Black Culture, this year’s event will be available for everyone to livestream online.
The Ceremony includes two important traditions: the donning of the Drexel kente stole, symbolizing the excellence and contributions of students of the African diaspora at Drexel University, and a recognition of both an undergraduate and graduate student with specialized awards. You are encouraged to nominate a student for the 2022 William S. Pittman Awards. Visit the Pittman Graduation Celebration page for more details and to nominate a deserving student!
